The Denney House, Inc. opened its doors in May of 2013 to help youth fighting hunger and homelessness. As a part of our initial mission, we supplied food boxes to families in need, hot meals and hygienic care packages to homeless individuals in and around our community. We also provided reentry assistance for youth and young adults aging out of foster care and newly released from incarceration.

In 2017, we expanded the reach of our mission to create more opportunities for youth and the community to be proactive in advancing their futures. Working alongside our youth over time, we discovered we were addressing the effects of a much larger missing piece in our community. Our young people desperately seek love, compassion, and transparency. Additionally, they need guidance and direction to help develop their self-confidence, help nurture and grow their passion and creativity. With this, we established The Denney House Empowerment Institute which provides youth access to knowledge and experiences that will help prepare them for tomorrow through the cultivation of meaningful relationships and future-ready skills.

In parallel, we developed the Project Clean Water Initiative, of the Youth on A Mission Program which leverages key partnerships to create opportunities for the community to be good stewards of the earth we have been blessed with — so that the world in which our youth seek to use their gifts and talents can continue to thrive for them and generations to come.

Today, many of the young people we have served are now volunteering, helping us help others. We have designed our programs around what we believe is the missing piece — Faith! Many of our youth are excited about the opportunities they have been given and look forward to what is to come.
