Khalilah Denney founded The Denney House Inc. because of her desire to provide access to opportunities for youth that she didn’t have as she grew up in the foster care system. Her passion for the community and the environment help drive the mission of TDH. Khalilah’s experience includes working in Human Resources for a number of organizations for over a decade. She also serves in her local church and is an advocate for environmental stewardship and personal development for youth and their families.
Michael Gray
Transitional Housing Manager
Michael Gray is the Transitional Housing Manager for our program. Michael came to The Denney House as a transitional housing resident and has continuously shown leadership and perseverance that has lead to this promotion. Michael has the desire to help people who have had to suffer consequences of choices made in the past understand that they can still have a bright future.

Board President
Sasha is the current President of the Board. He joined because he believes The Denney House is one of the few community organizations that really get it. The Denney House understands that to make real change in a community, you have to be willing to be part of that community; you have to get to know the people, you have to win their trust and consent. He believes that The Denney House can be a real engine of change in its community, and that’s potential that I would like to see fulfilled.”
Board Secretary
Leslee Veniece Foote, a New Jersey native, became a Prince George’s county resident in August 2013. She currently serves as Government Contractor providing acquisition support for the United States Air Force where as a Contracting Officer she holds a $5M warrant.
With a passion for community, youth and education, supporting the Denney House was a natural fit for Foote. She has a desire to see everyone walk in their greatness and believes the Denney House’s major developmental focus directly aligns with the steps we all need to take to present our best selves and make the biggest impact in our community.
In addition to an MBA (Howard University, 2016), Leslee holds a bachelor’s degree in Sport Science and Fitness Management (North Carolina A&T State University, 2010) and a Master’s in Sports Administration (Georgia State University, 2012). Foote married her college sweetheart, Jonathan, in June 2016, and the couple resides in Fort Washington with their three daughters.

Danyel supports TDH because she love the grassroots work the organization is doing in and for the community. Danyel is the Founder of Divine Connectionz, a for profit public speaking firm that specializes in youth and women empowerment. Danyel is also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., a Lead Instructor for the XtremeKidz Children’s Ministry at Zion Church.

David Sloan, Jr. is a proven advocate who has dedicated his life to bringing people together to mobilize on behalf of the issues that matter to our county: jobs, opportunity, education, healthy communities and safer streets. He currently serves as the Director of Policy Planning and Public Affairs for County Executive Angela Alsobrooks.
David has also served some of our State and Nation’s most forward-looking public officials including Governor Martin O’Malley, Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Senator Ben Cardin, County Councilmember Dorothy Bailey, and Major Riddick. He also served as as Executive Director of the Maryland Democratic Party.
The Denny House is an organization who blends the best values of community service and opportunities for youth and those who are too often overlooked; and he was proud to join their board of directors
David Sloan is both devout in his Christian Faith and a devout Democrat. He is a lifelong resident of Prince George’s County. He attended The Berklee College of Music. In his free time, David sings with his band 33 West and cheers on the Washington Commanders.

Amanda supports TDH because she believes that children are one of the most vulnerable populations and she feels that they deserve to have a genuine organization to look out for their well-being. She believes that The Denney House is one of those organizations. Amanda is a Registered Nurse who is working in home health care. She is also in leadership at an organization called Touching Young Lives which supports young parents in the community.

John considers himself to be a passionate community servant. His ability to motivate and inspire individuals in identifying their potential and share this passion to serve others is unparalleled. With this ongoing quest to give, he has been working to promote significant, positive change in his community and individuals through advocacy, empowered by compassion. He takes pride in engaging in a civically based approach to community building.
He is committed to life-long service based on personal and professional experiences. His focus is on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which they belong. He believes in putting the needs of others first and helping people develop and perform as highly as possible. The Denney House has been one of his most admired organizations in Prince George’s County since being introduced to its Executive Director Khalilah Denney in 2015. The Denney House focuses on a passion that he devotes a significant amount of his time to and that’s uplifting and guiding our youth.

LaTasha has supported The Denney House from nearly the beginning. She supports TDH because she believes in the youth and supports any effort to ensure their futures are secured. She works as a counselor at a local high school and is involved in a number of initiatives of her own for the development of youth – particularly
young women.

LaShunda supports the organization because education, experience and options are some of the most valuable things you can offer a community, and TDH excels in providing them. With over 15 years of experience working with youth, LaShunda has held a number of positions including, youth ministry leader, teaching, college and career counseling support, serving two years with AmeriCorps and working with various community youth groups.
